We are frequently asked to describe the difference between a conservatory and an orangery. Essentially a conservatory is glazed all over, sides and roof, whereas orangeries are architecturally stronger with solid walls which include wider pilasters and a flat roof portion.
This orangery was installed on an existing large balcony. It includes Georgian sliding sashes which are more traditional and in keeping with the existing home. The lighting has been has been carefully thought out to provide the right amount of shade throughout the year.
