Design & detail in All Our Conservatories and Orangeries

Casement style windows are not like any others, which tend to be flush. Hampton Conservatories sashes have a 10 mm step back from the face of the frame. This creates a unique shadow line and a sense of depth to the window and gives it a characteristic look. Our windows have a double seal foam filled nylon gasket and additionally they are designed with a bevelled cill for natural drainage. Internally the frame has a traditional pencil mould beading of traditional casement and sliding sash windows.

Timber pilaster used externally, are schematically correct both in the design and proportions. Our frieze detail on our Orangeries are based on classical architectural proportioning, many other companies try to reproduce this but do not have the design skills necessary which end up with the customer having something that is not just quite right.

The fenestration used on our window designs is particularly slim; it is bevelled on the outside to recreate a traditional finish. Internally it is moulded with what is known as lambs tongue profile typical of early single glazed fenestration detailing.
