Striking Botanical Glasshouse on Long Island

Glasshouse on Long Island

This elaborate design functions as a private pool house and a corporate events area, but it is also a stunning botanical showcase. Tucked into a secluded part of a private garden, this spectacular detached pool enclosure is a premier glasshouse on Long Island. Specifically designed to create a harmonious home for the owner’s prized orchid collection. The structure was carefully positioned and engineered by Hampton using circular steel columns, which flank both sides of the pool, ensuring maximum light and providing panoramic views across Long Island and New York City.

The complex structure was fabricated from rolled and galvanised tubular steel and finished in Brilliant White. This robust material choice ensures structural longevity and provides a sleek, contemporary aesthetic that perfectly complements the surrounding architecture. Whilst the enclosure is mostly enjoyed by the owner and his family, it was primarily designed for corporate entertaining, demanding both durability and high-end style. Therefore, it extends inwards to an extensive bar and recreation space, while bi-fold doors running the length of one side enable it to be opened completely to the beautifully landscaped grounds, seamlessly merging the indoor and outdoor event spaces.
