Bespoke commercial conservatories

Over the years, many businesses in the hospitality sector have chosen a bespoke Hampton Conservatories glazed structure as an elegant addition to bars, restaurants and wedding venues. These have been installed on the ground, upper floors and even roof-tops, and are often complemented by matching roof lanterns, windows and doors. We have also created elegant reception and dining extensions, stylish wedding venues and unique covered smoking areas for our clients.

Outstanding examples of commercial conservatories that we have designed and installed in challenging locations include the River Room Conservatory in Galgorm Resort and Spa, which was elevated to the first floor level overlooking a picturesque weir; and the terrace restaurant at Graham’s Port Lodge in Portugal, which was built underneath an expansive run of mature grape vines.

Our commercial conservatory or orangery projects take account of the location and country in which they are set, to ensure that they not only add square footage but also create a fabulous atmosphere.

During daylight hours, the bright and airy ambiance resulting from an abundance of glass is sure to gain client satisfaction. Skylight ceilings allow the afternoon sun to bathe a room in golden sunlight, while even the night sky, or city lights, can provide a dramatic backdrop during the hours of darkness.

In any location, an expanse of glass allows breath-taking views of land, sea or cityscapes, creating an ethereal atmosphere, blending perfectly the environment between in and outdoors.

So what is the best fit for your business, a conservatory or an orangery?

Structurally the most notable difference is the composition of the roof. Conservatories are designed with at least 75% of the roof created from glass, however, it’s common for the roof to be engineered almost entirely of glass. The light and bright atmosphere of a conservatory allows the user to feel at one with the outdoors and is best if the property has wide panoramas to enjoy.

Orangeries differ in that the roof is commonly solid with glass lanterns positioned to let light in. An orangery tends to lend itself to a cosier atmosphere within and is better for shielding the user from very bright sunshine as the entablature (the horizontal beams that run around the top) can be adjusted to suit the purpose and location of the extension.

Either is a beneficial addition to a commercial property, so the decision is based on which
will suit the property and your needs more appropriately. If you aren’t sure, our experts are on hand to guide you through the decision making and design process. As all of our glazed extensions are bespoke, it may be that the end result is more of a hybrid, to perfectly suit your requirements.

The expertise honed by Hampton Conservatories staff over 40 years is reassurance that your project will be in good hands. We take pride in delivering top-quality, luxurious structures that blend harmoniously with their host buildings. Because our products are bespoke, we can detail your design to perfectly blend with buildings of every period, whether traditional or contemporary.

If you prefer, your glazed extension can be in complete juxtaposition to the existing building: structurally and architecturally, we know what works and what doesn’t and will help you decide what’s best. Whatever the desired style or end use, our commercial conservatories and orangeries are both highly functional and visually stunning.

How We Manage Your Project

During the design stages, we will always keep your end user in mind, collaborating closely with you to ensure all of your business needs and personal requirements are met.

We can handle Planning Approvals and co-ordinate with Listed Building and Conservation Officers to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. If necessary, we can also apply for Building Control Approval on your behalf and obtain final Local Authority Certification. At every stage of the project, we endeavour to minimise disruption by employing meticulous project scheduling and specialised, experienced fitting teams. Although all installations are carried out by our dedicated staff, we are happy to liaise with your architect, builder, or main contractor on any associated building work from conception right through to completion.
